Welcome to 'In Charley's Memory'
In Charley’s Memory is all about making mental health matter for young people.
We are a local charity based in Highbridge, Somerset. We work to support young people aged 11- 25 in a variety of ways. Our main support is through one to one counselling.
Mental Health is a very broad term used to cover a variety of issues but 1:4 of us will struggle with our mental health at some stage.
This is just a few areas where our Counselling team can offer support:
Although there is now much more awareness so many of us struggle to talk about our mental health, maybe its fear of what people will say, or the fear you will be judged, or maybe you cannot put into words what you are feeling. You are not alone, We are here to help.
In Charley's memory was founded 4 years ago, it is through fundraising events and the generosity of the public that allow us to reach our missions and therefore work towards the prevention of suicide in young adults. We aim to raise awareness of this invisible illness and reduce the stigma that surrounds mental health.
"ICM was there for me at a time when I felt no one else was..."
"All my friends seemed to cope with exams but for me the exams made me so anxious i couldn't even leave my bedroom, I felt so alone."
"My counsellor was amazing he listened without judgement and gave me some ideas to help me make it into my exams."
Despite the sad circumstances in which ICM was founded, the passion and drive of all involved is what has made this wonderful charity what it is today.
