Recreational drugs and alcohol can affect your mental health in lots of different ways. It’s also hard to know where to find support if you are struggling with addiction. In some cases, using recreational drugs can lead to long-term mental health problems. For example, depression or schizophrenia. Or they could exacerbate pre-existing mental health problems. 

How can I help?

  • The first option when struggling with addiction is to contact your GP. They will discuss with you about how your addiction is affecting you and will explain your treatment options.
